Led by Tim, Zé Pedro, Kalú, João Cabeleira and Gui, Xutos & Pontapés have united entire generations through songs that became true anthems of Portuguese culture. From high-energy classics like A Minha Casinha and Ai se Ele Cai to timeless ballads such as Homem do Leme, the band embodies pure, visceral rock’n’roll with an unbreakable bond to its audience. Every time they step on stage, that connection is instantly felt — a collective energy that continues to grow decade after decade.

An inseparable part of Rock in Rio Lisboa’s history since its very first edition in Portugal, Xutos & Pontapés have performed at every single edition of the festival. In 2026, they take on an unprecedented role: for the first time, the band curates the Music Valley Stage, presenting a special project titled “Class of ’79”. The name marks the year the band was formed and the beginning of a golden era of Portuguese rock that would shape the decades to come.

This unique curation, conceived by Xutos & Pontapés themselves, brings together GNR, UHF and Táxi — bands born around the same time who collectively shaped the DNA of Portuguese rock. Artists who crossed generations, preserved their irreverence and continue to inspire new audiences with the same energy and attitude that defined their beginnings.

“Class of ’79” is more than a lineup — it’s a historic gathering and a celebration of Portuguese music and its roots, promising surprises, unique encounters and unforgettable moments. A chapter set to be etched into the history of Rock in Rio Lisboa and Portuguese music itself.
